One of the features in ACT! by Sage 2009 and above is the ability to use Outlook Rules to automate and control the way that Outlook messages are recorded in your contacts history in your ACT! database.
Outlook Rules is a function in Outlook that lets the user define how incoming and outgoing messages are handled. ACT! now adds a custom action to the Outlook rules that directs Outlook to automatically attach incoming messages from contacts in your ACT! database to that contacts ACT! history. This is done by matching the email address associated with the message to the email address in the contact's record. This applies to any instance of that email address in any email field.
