Change in VAT Rate January 2010 – Sage 200

From 1st January 2010, the standard rate of VAT in Ireland will decrease from 21.5% to 21%. Also on this date the standard rate of VAT in the UK increases from 15% to 17.5%. Sage Payroll Mid-year Budget Update 2009

Financial Emergency Measures in the Public Interest Act 2009

Sage's payroll range (Micropay & Quickpay) are both well equiped to handle the new Public Sector Pension Levy charge as effected by the Financial Emergency Measures in the Public Interest Act 2009 which was passed by the Seanad on Friday the 27th February last. 
 
The Dept of Finance has stated that a ‘best estimate’ should be used to calculate PRD contribution values for employees until payroll software packages have been updated to automatically calculate these values.

Standard Rate VAT Change in December 2008

Following the 2009 Budget, the Standard Rate of VAT will increase on the 1st December.


With regard to VAT, what is new in the 2009 Budget?

From the 1st of December the standard rate of VAT will be increased
by 0.5% to 21.5%.

What impact does this have on Sage Instant Accounts and Sage 50?

Within the Sage 50 range (Sage 50 Accounts, Sage 50 Accounts Plus and Sage 50 Accounts Professional) and Sage Instant Accounts range, the tax code T1 needs to be amended to the new rate of 21.5%.
